Our Services

Development of the network model

What are the appropriate sizes for pumps and gravity mains under future climate conditions? How will our existing wastewater system handle increased flows from a new development area? Do we have bottlenecks in the sewer network? These and similar questions can be answered with a model. We develop, calibrate, and manage models, and we provide training and project support for their use.

Rain gauges

How intense was the rainfall that caused basement flooding and surface flooding? How should rain gauges be deployed to provide a basis for developing IDF (intensity–duration–frequency) curves for design? We supply, install, and operate year-round rain-gauge stations with data transmitted to regnbyge.no and met.no. We also carry out short-term campaign measurements with portable rain gauges.

Flow, level, and water quality

Can flow in partially filled pipes, channels, and culverts be measured with better than ±10% accuracy? We use high-precision cross-correlation flow meters with wireless telemetry. We also perform continuous data analysis and quality assurance of the measurements to ensure the highest possible data quality.

Inflow and infiltration mapping

How can we measure and document the effectiveness of rehabilitation, sewer separation, and renewal? How should zonal monitoring be set up? How can we determine where the inflow and infiltration originates? We combine an RDI (rainfall-dependent inflow and infiltration) model with rainfall and flow measurements to document I/I contributions and the effects of mitigation measures.

Monitoring of overflow structures

How does the overflow function hydraulically? What is the conveyed discharge, Q? How should overflows be instrumented, reported, and documented? Overflow structures come in many configurations. We tailor the measurement equipment, handle installation, perform analysis, and develop QH rating curves for each individual overflow. Overflow volume, sanitary sewage volume, run time, and number of events are presented online in a webbased overflow-reporting interface.

WinCan Support

Our Products

Thingy IoT - Smart Water

Our IoT solution is built on an LTE-M/NB-IoT module with a powerful embedded processor. Using LPWAN technology, the devices communicate with low power consumption, enabling battery-powered operation for years without replacement—ideal for long-term monitoring. Because we design, program, and develop our own solutions, we are free to connect whatever sensors we need to our data loggers. This lets us select and configure the most suitable level, flow, and water-quality sensors for each project.

Software — Regnbyge.no

We develop our own databases for ingesting data from IoT devices. This means we are not dependent on third-party cloud platforms such as Azure, Google, or Amazon. We build custom web interfaces for presenting time-series data from sensors and from hydraulic model simulations. We also develop desktop GIS capabilities for the efficient creation, management, and use of large, detailed hydraulic models for towns and cities.

WinCan Agency

We have been an authorized WinCan distributor since 2008. WinCan is a well-proven pipe-inspection reporting software that has been on the market for 25 years and has become a de facto standard in Norway. The program is Windows-based and easy to use. The current version, WinCan VX, was released on the Norwegian market in October 2019. The software is aligned with NORVAR Project Report 234/2018, Inspection Manual for Wastewater Systems. It is compatible with most camera systems on the market. We also supply industrial PCs for WinCan and provide software support to our customers.

NIVUS Agency

We have been the authorized NIVUS distributor since 2004. NIVUS supplies NivuFlow 750 cross-correlation flow meters for precise measurement of flow and level in partially filled pipes and channels. The company also provides clamp-on meters for measuring flow in pressurized pipes using transit-time technology. Both battery-powered instruments and permanent, mains-powered stations are available. We have carried out several thousand installations of NIVUS meters across Scandinavia and, if desired, we assist with instrument selection, configuration, installation, and operation.
